UNL is STARS Silver!
The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™ (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance.
University rankings are bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Points are earned across four main categories — academics, engagement, operations, and planning and administration. UNL is currently STARS silver.
Husker Spotlight: Meet UNL Alumna Skylar Falter
“There are products that you can only find in Nebraska. From the rich flavor of our vegetables and fruits to unique styles of cheeses, wines, and meats. Local foods are imperative to the future of our communities,” said Skylar Falter, UNL Alumna.
Falter is doing neat things for sustainability with her new position as a Buy Fresh Buy Local Nebraska coordinator and a co-owner of RhizoCity Farms in Lincoln, NE.
Tree Campus USA: Campus Highlight
The University of Nebraska- Lincoln (UNL) is one of twenty-two colleges and universities that have been recognized as a Tree Campus USA every year since the program was initiated in 2008. This year they celebrated their 10-year recognition as a Tree Campus USA!
