Hello, all! My name is Morgan Hartman and I am excited to serve the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as your new, full-time Recycling Coordinator! As a proud alumna of UNL, it brings me great joy to be able to utilize my degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics and experiences as a student leader to now positively impact the campus we all know and love through positive environmental behaviors like recycling!

Since beginning this position at the end of March, I have enjoyed diving into my new role by learning more about current recycling and sustainability efforts on campus and analyzing opportunities to make them more efficient. While not housed within the Office of Sustainability, I have enjoyed getting to know the OS team and working collaboratively with them on a variety of initiatives. This has included developing plans for a comprehensive recycling program at UNL, which will be supported in part through grants from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy and the Nebraska Environmental Trust. I look forward to working with the UNL community to implement a pilot program for the project in the future. Check out the recently published Nebraska Today article to learn more!

In the coming months, UNL can also look forward to a new and improved recycling website which will serve as a hub for recycling information and communication for the campus community.
