RecycleMania, a nationwide college competition to promote waste reduction, is set to return to the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in February.
UNL participated in RecycleMania in 2014 and over the eight-week period of competition, found a reduction in waste. Now, Jessica Van-Buskirk of Sustain UNL is bringing back the competition with the help of the Office of Sustainability.
Over the eight-week period, UNL will report the amount of trash and recycling collected to RecycleMania who will rank the data compared to all the other participating schools.
Van-Buskirk and other sustainable groups at UNL will organize outreach, events and activities to get UNL buzzing about recycling.
