Aspirational Goal: Develop the most efficient and effective system for the use and reuse of water through water resource conservation and education.
Long Term Objectives
Increase the use of recycled water for non-potable use at UNL by 50%.
Decrease the use of potable water use by 25%.
Short Term Objectives
Install water meters to measure water use across all UNL buildings.
Develop water conservation education plan in conjunction with the UNL Office of Sustainability, UNL Housing, Lincoln Water System, and other UNL & local entities.
Make specific changes to UNL building design guidelines for new and renovated buildings to promote water efficient practices and fixtures.
